How To Copy Text From any image you need certain information in the form of text from scanned copies of documents. Either you can write the whole text by typing or you can use an OCR Software .OCR (optical character recognition) is method to extract text from images. It can recognize hand written, printed or typewritten text and can produce them into editable word or text format. These OCR software also preserve the formatting of the original scanned document into converted document. They are not 100% accurate and the converted document still requires some editing rather to type the whole document .
Extract Text From Images with GT Text
- To start copying text from images, go to the GT Text Download Page and download the latest of many versions available.
- When the download is complete, run the installer and proceed with the installation process.
- Now when you are ready, run the application from your computer and the file explorer will appear. Select the type of image files you want to open, and browse the location. GT Text supports TIFF, JPG, GIF, BMP and PNG file formats. After selecting the images, click Open.
- GT Text will open the image. Now click on the ‘Area Text OCR’ button
- With your cursor active, select the text area you want to copy and release the mouse.
- Releasing the mouse will load a text prompt as per what’s highlighted, now click Continue to copy the text to clipboard.
- Once copied, open your Notepad or any other note-taking application and paste.
